Cinnamon is bark
is bite and flavor-flush,
intoxicating aroma too,
a lakeside, a garden
commodity and profit-giver,
and like all things exotic,
it begins with sweat,
the arc of labour,
the art of crafting
the curl and bind
of political economy
game for child
business as usual for end-adult
necessity for primary-adult
a taste of heaven
cooked on earth
with hands
and fires that resisted dousing
century after century after century.

As usual, this is also something uncommon. I like it.
ReplyDeleteYes! this is certainly a good and a different view of a different thing .... this provide us a different picture of flavors of life 'cinnamon farmers' a good contributor not only of flavors but also of our economy...... yes a game for a child, good money for a family ..... before all those other flavors join our list of flavors 'cinnamon' was the queen of all flavors' i believe, in the south and in entire country and around some of the other countries.
ReplyDeletei don't think that there is enough of cinnamon lands left due to various reasons like' development' and the families that are looking for their development' building houses, hotels, other commercial entities, roads etc .... 'inevitable'
