They
don’t knock on doors
not
all of them
familiarity is password enough
family is licence
after all
and they come
and they come
and they take and take and take,
and little dolls
don’t know how to cry
not always -
they stay crumpled in a corner
they just die
they just die
they just die.

heart-rending. No, they dont always have to come in through doors. What is our answer to this?
ReplyDeletegood thoughts and good to address such issues it is a must and i believe that is one of the role of a poet and other artists to address 'social issues and other visible things that obstruct the 'development' of mankind, human beings, and development of the whole world.
ReplyDeletethe society has a role to play here. how are we going to ensure the future of such kids. how can we change the 'attitude towards such children of the existing society' how are we going to punish such people? 'they just die' true. but what can be done to avoid such situations? ' can we just let them die 'within'?
who are the people that should die ( i know that this against the teachings and thoughts of Buddhism' - what to do i can not stop thinking like that)
Blame it on the media. Electronic and print. Blame it on the silver screen and their suggestive actors. Blame it finally on the law that has a lot of growl but no bite.
ReplyDeleteFacts are right but whats important now are to find cause and nodes pf prevention. May be parents should take more care of the kids. It is high time for psychiatrist to find out why the culprits act in this manner It may be the social taboos that prevent them from getting partners.
ReplyDeleteChild-rape has a long, long history. Centuries old. The media highlights it now, and for that we should be grateful. I think the answer is education-moral education from birth. Right and wrong. Black and white. No greys in this issue. And an encouragement of feelings of guilt. No cover-ups.
