Youth will
fight
but there
are fighting youth
and youth
spoiling for fight
where
blood can flow and flow
and it’s
the blood of others that spill
Youth will
fight
for causes
that get lost in battle
where
slogans erupt from substance and resolve
collapse
in the replacement of narrative
the
translation of revolution into power
and ideal
for anything-goes
but youth
will rise
with or
without a t-shirt
spurred
less by icon than by heart
untrapped
by trappings
barefoot
and naked
like
innocence,
ready for
slaughter
and not
slaughtering.
